about
This is my liberal instrumental interpretation, inspired by the spirit of the Haitian ancestors who participated in the Revolution, especially Jan-Jak Desalin, for whom the song is named after. I imagined myself performing this from the edge of the Citadel in Cap-Haïtien.
"La Dessalinienne" was written by Justin Lhérisson and composed by Nicolas Geffrard, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Haitian Revolution.
